The Central Library serves as a vital knowledge hub and learning resource center for students and faculty. Housed in a dedicated building, the library is designed to support academic excellence with a blend of physical and digital resources.

Activities for the Academic year 2015-16
The Department of Commerce believes not only in Academic standards but also in imparting the relevant skills to prepare students for employment opportunities, entrepreneurial abilities and vocational skills. In this direction, VGDC organised two Certificate Courses titled as “Vocational Skill Building on SELLING SKILLS” and “Vocational Skill Building programme on Office Administration” in collaboration with the ICICI Academy for skills for a period of 3 months during January,2016 to March, 2016. In this skill development programme, 44 students of B.Com were trained by honing their skills.

Rules & Regulations:

  • Maintain Silence.
  • Every Member should have ID card while entering the Library.
  • Every member should have write Name, Roll number, Department and time in gate register.
  • Internet Facility is available to every member, but it is limited to one hour and penalty of Rs. 50/-will be imposed if any member misuses it.
  • Don't use mobile phone and violation will attract severe punishment.
  • Members shall not engage in conversation in any part of the library as it may cause annoyance to other reader.
  • Members shall not write on, damage or mark any book belonging to the library.
  • Members shall not shelve books and periodicals as that disturbs the prescribed order.
  • Members are responsible for any damage caused by them to the books or any other property belonging to the library and shall be required to pay the penalty imposed upon them by the librarian.
  • The members caught tearing pages/stealing books will be from using the library facilities and further disciplinary action will be initiated against them by the college.
  • Printed material not allowed (Personal)
  • Members leaving the library should stop at the check point so that the books borrowed or taken out of the library by them may be checked.
  • Upon any infringement of the library rules, members shall forfeit the privileges of admission and membership of the library.

Functions

  • The library committee is responsible for the proper maintenance of the college library.
  • The convener is responsible for properly administrating the library grants in consultation with the Library Committee.
  • The committee with the consultation of the Principal will allot funds to the various subject departments of the college.
  • The committee shall frame the rules and get the approval of the Principal regarding the issue of the books, time limit for return of books and number of books to be issued to students and staff.
  • The committee in consultation with the Principal will fix the fine to be collected from the students for late returning, damaging, bad condition, tearing papers, loosing the book(s) etc.
  • The committee is accountable to the Principal regarding all the matters concerning the library.
  • The committee should oversee that every student and staff member should surrender the book collected from the library before the final examinations. Hall-tickets shall be issued only after getting the NOC from the library by the student.
